Commentary
Freedom from death as the fruit of constant realization of the One. It is not enough to intellectually understand that only Spirit exists: the text demands nityam (constantly, always). Liberating knowledge is not an occasional insight but a sustained presence. The yogi who ceaselessly realizes non-duality—in meditation, in action, in sleep—transcends the cycle of birth and death.
Sattvādhikā (in which sattva predominates, with excess of the quality of luminosity) describes the texture of the vidyā that manifests as Lakṣmī. Sattva is the quality of purity, luminosity, and harmony. Divyarūpiṇī (of divine form, whose form is celestial) underscores the transcendent nature of this manifestation. Saṃsāraduḥkhānmucyate (is freed from the suffering of saṃsāra, released from the wheel) is the final promise.
The identification of Lakṣmī with sattva-guṇa has deep roots in the Vaiṣṇava tradition, where Lakṣmī is the śakti of the preserver Viṣṇu—the force that maintains the universe’s order. In the Tantric context of the Śivasaṃhitā, Lakṣmī represents the potency of luminous consciousness that, when predominant, becomes a source of spiritual prosperity—not only material. True wealth is jñāna.
