यतश्चोदेति सूर्योऽस्तं यत्र च गच्छति । तं देवाःसर्वे अर्पितास्तदु नात्येति कश्चन । एतद्वैतत् ॥ ९ ॥

yataś codeti sūryo 'staṃ yatra ca gacchati | taṃ devāḥ sarve arpitās tad u nātyeti kaścana | etad vai tat || 9 ||

From where the sun rises and toward where it sets — in that all the gods are established, and no one transcends that. This is in truth That.

This verse describes Brahman as the source and sustainer of all.

Yataś codeti sūryaḥ — from where the sun rises. The cosmic origin.

Astaṃ yatra ca gacchati — and toward where it sets. The final destination.

Taṃ devāḥ sarve arpitāḥ — in that all the gods are established. The gods depend on Brahman.

Tad u nātyeti kaścana — and no one transcends that. Brahman is the absolute limit.

Etad vai tat — this is in truth That.

This teaching indicates that Brahman is the immutable foundation of the entire universe. All the gods, all worlds, all existence rests in Him. Meditation on this truth leads to liberation.
