Prathama-prakaraṇam (Yama) · Verse 26
येन यत्क्रियते तस्य गर्भवासः करे स्थितः । संसारभीरुभिस्तस्मात्विध्युक्तं कामवर्जितम् ॥
yena yatkriyate tasya garbhavāsaḥ kare sthitaḥ | saṃsārabhīrubhistasmātvidhyuktaṃ kāmavarjitam ||
The counterpoint: action born of desire leads to garbhavāsa — dwelling in the womb, i.e., rebirth. Those who fear saṃsāra (saṃsārabhīrubhiḥ) should therefore practice vidhyuktaṃ kāmavarjitam — prescribed action free from desire. The text does not condemn desire-based action as sinful; it simply shows the causal chain: desire → action → rebirth. Liberation requires breaking this chain at its root.
