Prathama-prakaraṇam (Yama) · Verse 27
विधिवत् कर्म कर्तव्यं ज्ञानेन सह सर्वदा । जाताश्च त्रिषु लोकेषु आनुलोम्येन मानवाः ॥
vidhivat karma kartavyaṃ jñānena saha sarvadā | jātāśca triṣu lokeṣu ānulomyena mānavāḥ ||
The principle of always (sarvadā) performing prescribed action joined with knowledge (jñānena saha) is universal across all varṇas and āśramas. Ānulomyena — according to the proper order — refers to the natural, lawful progression of birth in the three worlds. This verse situates the yoga teaching within the broader framework of dharma: yoga does not replace Vedic duty but transforms it from within.
