Daivāsura-Sampad-Vibhāga Yoga · Verse 7
प्रवृत्तिं च निवृत्तिं च जना न विदुरासुराः | न शौचं नापि चाचारो न सत्यं तेषु विद्यते
pravṛttiṃ ca nivṛttiṃ ca janā na vidur āsurāḥ | na śaucaṃ nāpi cācāro na satyaṃ teṣu vidyate
Demoniac beings do not know activity or abstention. There is no purity, nor correct conduct, nor truth in them.
The fundamental ignorance of the asura. They do not know (na viduḥ) pravṛtti — activity in accordance with dharma — nor nivṛtti — abstention from what is contrary to dharma. They live without moral guidance.
Absence of three things: śauca (purity), ācāra (conduct in accordance with tradition), and satya (truth). Na vidyate — it does not exist in them. These are the three bases of ethical life; without them, the āsurī nature flourishes.
