Daivāsura-Sampad-Vibhāga Yoga · Verse 6
द्वौ भूतसर्गौ लोकेऽस्मिन्दैव आसुर एव च | दैवो विस्तरशः प्रोक्त आसुरं पार्थ मे शृणु
dvau bhūta-sargau loke 'smin daiva āsura eva ca | daivo vistaraśaḥ prokta āsuraṃ pārtha me śṛṇu
Two are the creations of beings in this world: the divine and the demoniac. The divine has been proclaimed extensively; now hear from Me the demoniac, O Pārtha.
Classification of types of birth. Dvau bhūta-sargau — two classes of creation of beings. In this loke (world), they are daiva (divine, luminous) and āsura (demoniac, opaque).
The daiva has already been explained vistaraśaḥ — extensively, in detail. Now the āsurī-sampad is described. The verse functions as a narrative transition: “hear from Me” (me śṛṇu) about the other type.
