Taking refuge in ego, force, arrogance, desire and anger, they hate Me in their own bodies and in those of others, envious calumniators.

The asura takes refuge (saṃśritaḥ) in five forces: ahaṅkāra (false ego), bala (force/brutality), darpa (arrogance), kāma (desire), krodha (anger). These are their gods.

Result: they hate (pradviṣantaḥ) Kṛṣṇa (mām) — the ātman in their own body and in the bodies of others. They are abhyasūyaka — envious, calumniators, incapable of tolerating others’ virtue. Recognizing the divine in another is impossible for the asura.
