Ātma-Saṃyama Yoga · Verse 36

असंशयं महाबाहो मनो दुर्निग्रहं चलम् | अभ्यासेन तु कौन्तेय वैराग्येण च गृह्यते

asaṃśayaṃ mahā-bāho mano durnigrahaṃ calam | abhyāsena tu kaunteya vairāgyeṇa ca gṛhyate

Without doubt, oh mighty-armed one!, the mind is difficult to control and restless; but through practice and detachment, oh son of Kuntī!, it can be mastered.

Kṛṣṇa accepts Arjuna’s premise — the mind is durnigrahā (difficult to control) and calam (restless). But not impossible.

Two methods: abhyāsa (repeated practice, sustained effort) and vairāgya (detachment, non-identification with mental objects). These are the two wings of yoga: disciplined effort and renunciation of results.
