Victor in all pleasures, without taking possession of anything; preceded by darkness, one in whom thirst is exhausted is purified.

Yogamānajino — victor over bonds (yoga). Pleasures are not the enemy, the bonds they create in us are.

Andhabhūto — afflicted by darkness. Before purification there is darkness. It is not a permanent state, it is the precondition that makes liberation necessary.
