Yo ve vītataṇho kāme, sabbā save anapekkhano; Sabbakāmesu visamyutto, sa ve brāhmaṇoti vuccati.

Who is free from thirst in pleasures, without desire for impurities; disconnected from all pleasures, that one is called Brahman.

Repetition focusing on kāme — sensual pleasures. Thirst for pleasures is the grossest form of attachment. Exhausting it is the first step.

Anapekkhano — without expectation. The sage expects nothing from pleasures, but does not reject them. One passes through without staying.
