Tṛtīyopadeśaḥ (Mudrā) · Verse 11
महामुद्रा चेयमभ्यस्ता सिद्धानां सिद्धिदायिनी | मृत्युं जयति योगीशो महारोगविनाशिनी ||
mahāmudrā ceyam abhyastā siddhānāṃ siddhidāyinī | mṛtyuṃ jayati yogīśo mahārogavināśinī ||
The rewards of Mahāmudrā: spiritual perfection, conquest of death, healing of serious diseases. It is not poetic exaggeration; it is a description of what is possible when prāṇa flows freely through suṣumnā.
“Conquers death” (mṛtyuṃ jayati) does not mean physical immortality but transcendence of the fear of dying. The practitioner realizes that consciousness does not die with the body.
“Great diseases” include not only physical ailments but also the mental afflictions that cause suffering. Mahāmudrā is integral medicine for the human being.
