Twenty-fifth technique. Hṛdayākāśe — in the space of the heart. Not the physical heart. The spiritual center of the chest where the śaiva tradition locates the seat of consciousness. Nilīnākṣaḥ — with senses dissolved, withdrawn.

Padmasampuṭamadhyagaḥ — being in the center of the closed lotus. The image is precise: a lotus closed upon itself, with consciousness at its exact center. Not open to the exterior. Not receiving stimuli. Closed, contained, complete.

Paraṃ saubhāgyam āpnuyāt — the supreme fortune is attained. Saubhāgya is not mundane luck. It is the blessing of finding one’s own nature. Bhairava uses subhage — “oh fortunate one” — addressing Devī. The technique of the heart space is universal in India’s contemplative traditions. Here it is stripped of all complexity: simply rest in the center.
