The compulsive repetition of “therefore” (tasmāt vai) seven times expresses the urgency and absolute certainty of this message. There is no other cause, no other way. The dṛṣṭi (vision) of Ātman is immediately mukti (liberation). In our yoga practice, this alerts us against postponements: “when this course is finished”, “when I have more time”, “when I’m ready”. The vision is available now, in this moment. And śānti (peace) does not precede liberation but follows naturally, as calm follows the storm when the sky clears.
