Prathama-prakaraṇam (Yama) · Verse 15

योगं वक्ष्यामि विधिवद्धात्रोक्तं परमेष्ठिना । मुनयः श्रूयतामत्र गार्ग्या सह समाहिताः ॥

yogaṃ vakṣyāmi vidhivaddhātrokṭaṃ parameṣṭhinā | munayaḥ śrūyatāmatra gārgyā saha samāhitāḥ ||

Yājñavalkya declares that what he will teach comes from Brahmā himself — dhātroktaṃ parameṣṭhinā — spoken by the Creator, the Supreme Lord. This paramparā (lineage) of transmission — from Brahmā to Yājñavalkya, and now to Gārgī and the ṛṣis — establishes the authority of the teaching. The address to the munayaḥ — sages — alongside Gārgī confirms this is a collective teaching moment, not a private instruction.
