Dakshina

Right, south, skillful. In subtle anatomy, piṅgalā nāḍī is the right channel (dakṣiṇa), bearer of solar energy and heat. The right hand (dakṣiṇa hastha) is employed in rituals and offerings. Dakṣiṇā designates the offering to the guru as gratitude for the transmission of knowledge. In the Śiva Saṃhitā, flow through dakṣiṇa nāḍī is associated with solar activity and vital force.
